Tárrega, Mertz Sor and Llobet are unarguably key composer-guitarists in the history of the classical guitar and the recent decisions by Schott music to publish new editions by Tárrega and Mertz, is excellent news for the guitar world. These and all our new collected editions contain previously unpublished material and are produced to the highest standards at concert size, with documented critical commentaries and historical notes.

The new and truly unique Guitar Heritage Tárrega edition, researched. edited and recorded by leading Tárrega researcher, author and concert guitarist Adrián Rius Espinós, will certainly help clarify many questions about Tárrega, his life, and particularly, sheds light on his technique and teaching methods in detail. All 10 new Tárrega volumes have previously unpublished content.

The expansion and development of the Chanterelle Mertz edition now under the direction of Graziano Salvoni, a leading researcher on Mertz, will also breathe new life into our instrument’s historical ‘Mittel-Europa’ repertoire. M° Salvoni is the author of the 600 page book: Caspar Joseph Mertz: L’ultimo pioneer della chitarra a Vienna – La vita, I concerti, le opere (lulu.com – Italian text only).

Production will start in stages as from October 2024 and all these interesting new editions will be commercially available through Schott Music Group in Mainz. Private customers can order through their habitual music channels or from the Schott Music webshop. Trade distribution is through mds-Partner in Mainz, Germany.
